Aloha! My Name is Jason Carrillo and I am the Lead Teacher in the Eagle classroom. I was born and raised in Hawaii, on the island of Kauai. I relocated to Anchorage in April of ’97 to live with family. I have been in the Early Childhood field for 12 yrs. I have been working with Native Alaskan families for 7 yrs. as a Head Start teacher. For the past three summers I have worked for the Anchorage School District with Project Kil, a program for Alaska native and American Indian boys who are going into Kindergarten. In 2005 I obtained my CDA credential and furthered my professional develop in receiving my AA in Early Childhood Education. I am currently enrolled at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks to obtain my BA degree in Early Childhood.
I currently have a part-time job, and while away from work I really enjoy exercising at the gym and playing volleyball. Over the course of years I have developed a passion for working with children. I enjoy teaching children and helping them successfully become competent individuals. I also enjoy helping families prepare themselves and their child for their future academics. I will be looking forward for this school year and meeting new families and children. Mahalo nui loa!
